RFP Questions and Answers

  1. From part 3, project description – will OSARC please clarify bullets 5 and 6? ‘Evaluate and Develop Maintenance and Repair Recommendations for various types of bridges’
    • EVALUATE
      • Go to bridge site and look at the repairs performed to ascertain if the bridge can be opened to traffic?
      • OR Review other contractor/firm repair recommendations?
    • DEVELOP
      • During Inspection reporting – writing maintenance repair / maintenance recommendations and classifying as either urgent or routine?
      • OR Developing contract plans and procedures for repairs?

  2. From part 3, project description will OSARC please define bullet 8? “Bridge inspection Support”.

  3. If the Table of Contents is placed on the back of the front cover, would this count against the page max?

  4. Part 2, Section C. Description of Staff, Organizational Chart, and Resumes, 2. b. Other Relevant Employees. We request clarification of these requirements with a 2 part question -
    4a. Our interpretation of these RFP requirements is that we should provide a list of Project Role/Responsibility Titles with definitions of each and then a table showing the Employee Names, Role/Responsibility Titles, years of experience and relevant certifications. Is this a correct interpretation?
    4b. Are small bios required to be provided for each relevant employee in this section in addition to the resumes that will be provided in the appendix?

A. EVALUATE Maintenance and Repair Recommendations for various types of bridges

The Consultant may be asked to review and evaluate repair recommendations made by the bridge owner or his/her representative.

A. DEVELOP Maintenance and Repair Recommendations for various types of bridges

The Consultant may be asked to prepare “generic” repair recommendations for repairs to various types of bridge deficiencies that would then be made available to a bridge owner or his/her representative for use in making site specific repairs.

2Q. From part 3, project description will OSARC please define bullet 8? “Bridge inspection Support”.

A. Bridge Inspection Support is defined as providing assistance to OSARC. Examples would help in managing the NBI for which it is responsible; providing training for bridge owners through OSARC; assisting with QC/QA reviews of bridge inspection program (i.e. complex, timber, non-complex, etc.).

Yes, interpretation is correct.
